Session I: The Ins and Outs of Self Publishing (with illustrator Suzanne Gibson)
We will talk about the pros and cons of self-publishing, how to choose a company to work with, what the process is like and more. We will bring examples from the process of publishing Imagination: A Journey of the Mind, a rhyming, richly illustrated book geared toward pre- and early readers. Audience questions will be incorporated.
Session II: How to Illustrate the Written Word
We will show the illustrator's process of bringing words to life through drawing. We will use examples from Imagination: A Journey of the Mind, a rhyming, richly illustrated book geared toward pre- and early readers. We'll also involve the audience in the process, asking audience members for words to ilustrate as well as for their interpretations as to how they would illustrate someone else's words.
